Sep. 09, 1958 - New piece of statuary unveiled in the new town center of Stevenage; The Hon David Bowes Lyon, Lord Lieutenant of the county of Hertfordshire, today unveiled a piece of statuary by Franta Belsky in the new town centre of Stevenage. It is designed to symbolise the birth of a new town. Franta Belsky was born in Czechoslovakia in 1921, and is a naturalised British subject.
