Franz Waxman, German-born conductor, in London

Dec. 12, 1962 - German-born conductor and composer in London Concert at the Royal Festival Hall. Mr. Franz Waxman the American conductor, who is director of the Los Angeles Music Festival, is in London to conduct the Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Royal Festival Hall Concert tomorrow. Mr. Waxman is an important man in American Music, and is even in some quarters classed as a kind of Californian Lord Harewood'. Mr. Waxman is the only composer to have received two Academy Awards consecutively, for his music in A Place in the Sun and Sunset Boulevard. He also produced the score of A Nun's Story'.
