Frau Rommel visits tomb at El Alamein
May 24, 1954 - 24-5-54 Rommel widow visits El Alamein Cemetery Frau Lucie Rommel, widow of the German War Leader Field Marshal Rommel who is on a visit to Egypt made a desert pilgrimage to El Alamein the scene of her husband great disaster. She placed a wreath on the tomb of the Afrika Corps and then to show there is no bitterness she drove on across the desert to the British cemetery. There were no Britons present when she arrived with the escorting Egyptian officers.
