French-Flemish gradual in exhibition, Budapest
Aug. 08, 1968 - Exhibition Of Hungarian Corvin Codices Opened At The National Museum In Budapest: An exhibition of Hungarian Corvin codices was opened at the Budapest National Museum on August 16, by Dr. Dezso Keresztury, Hungarian literary historian. The library of King Mathies Corvinus, the famous Hungarian renaissance ruler, contained some two thousands of these hand-written and ornately decorated volumes, of which only 180 have survived. Of those 180 volumes 48 are preserved in various Hungarian libraries. Except for a few badly damaged specimens all the Hungarian Corvin codices are displayed at the exhibition.
