Mar. 03, 1962 - Fritzi Massary celebrated 80th birthday in Munich: The Massary as the charming Viennesse Fritzi Massary was called by a whole generation admiringly, left her home at Beverly Hills for a short time to celebrate her 80th birthday with her daughter and friends in Munich. From the beginning of this century until about 1930, Fritzi Massary was the Prima donna of operetta and musical. Her great career started in 1904 at the Berlin Metropol theater. 1932, she appeared for the last time on German stage in the part A woman who knows what she wants by Oscar Strauss, together with her husband, the great stars of the Berlin theatre before 1933. Photo shows the 80 year old Fritzi Massary (L), with Elisabeth Bergner (R) who, like Massary, had great triumphs on the Berlin stages
