1956 - Funeral of Spanish Prince who was accidentally shot: Leading members of the Spanish aristocracy attended the funeral of the Infante Don Alfonso of Bourbon, the 14-year-old son of Don Juan, the Spanish Pretender, who was accidentally shot while cleaning a pistol with his elder brother, the Infante Don Juan Carlos, at their home in Estoril in Portugal, on Thursday. Don Alfonso was shot in the head and died within a few minutes. Photo shows: Don Juan, the Spanish Pretender (R) standing before the coffin at Cascais Cemetery, accompanied by his other son the Infante Don Juan Carlos (behind his father in uniform). Also in attendance are ex-King Umberto of Italy and Colonel Bento of France, representing the Portugese Chief of State
