Feb. 26, 1960 - 26-2-60 Lady Mountbatten is buried at sea as she had requested Following a service at Romsey Abbey the body of Countess Mountbatten of Burma was taken to Portsmouth where it was taken aboard the frigate H.M.S. Wakeful for burial at sea today. Photo Shows: The coffin is carried from Romsey Abbey en route for Portsmouth. Following the cortege are Earl Mountbatten, his two daughters, Lady Brabourne and Lady Pamela Hicks with other members of the family
