Feb. 02, 1960 - Lady Mountbatten is Buried at Sea as She Had Requested Following a service at Romsey Abbey the body of Countess Mounbatten of Burma was taken to Portsmouth and put aboard the frigate H.M.S. Wakeful for burial at sea.yesterday. Photo Shows: The family mourners follow the cortege from Romsey Abbey after the service yesterday. They are Earl Mountbatten and his two daughters, Lady Brabourne and Lady Pamela Hicks, followed by (L. to R.) Mr. Michael Cunningham Reid, Lady Delamere (sister of Lady Mountbatten) and Mr. Noel Cunningham Reid. Immediately behind is (L. to R.) Lord Brabourne, the Marquis of Milford Haven and Mr. David Hicks, and at rear are Lady Brecknock and her son Lord Brecknock (cousins)
