Sep. 09, 1977 - 20, 000 ATTEND THE FUNERAL OF BLACK LEADER STEVE BIKO: An estimated 20, 000 people attended the funeral service of 30, year-old STEVE BIKO, the black leader who died a fortnight ago in a police cell in Pretoria. It took place in a Sorpte Stadium in King William's Town, South Africa. Speakers at the five hour long service belief that Biko died violently.
