Nov. 11, 1960 - Russian Chess Champion Checks in with a Selection of Chopin. Mark Taimanov, the Russian Grand Master, played a selection of Chopin before beginning his first championship game at the Hastings International Chess Congress which opened yesterday. Taimanov, 49, a brilliant concert pianist, making his second appearance at Hastings, gave a brief recital before young English international Masters. Photo Shows Mark Taimanov displays his talent as a concert pianist by playing a selection of Chopin before switching over to the Chess board for his first game at Hastings yesterday
