Jun. 06, 1959 - OPENING OF THE WARREN SPRING LABORATORY. RESEARCH INTO ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION ETC. The New Warren Spring Laboratory of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research was opened at Stevenage yesterday - by Lord Hailsham, Lord President of the Council. The initial programme of the laboratory includes work on mineral processing - the synthesis of oils and chemicals from carbon monoxide and hydrogen - and research aimed at the suppression of atmosphere pollution.
