Apr. 09, 1981 - General Omar Bradley Dies At 88 U.S. Army General Omar Bradley, who commanded over a million troops in Europe during the 2nd World War, died in New York last night during a visit with his wife Kitty, to the exclusive 21 club. Bradley was the last American Five-star General, and was Commander-in-Chief of U.S. Forces which landed in Normandy on D-Day.
