General Rustu Erdelhun of Turkey
May 05, 1960 - Bloodless coup d'etat in Turkey armed forces take control, chief of general staff arrested; Armed forces took over in Turkey in a bloodless coup d'etat at Midnight and promised to hold free elections and to hand over control to the winner. Among those said to be in custody are Celal Bayar the President and the chief of the General Staff General Rustu Erdelhun.
