Georg Solti, conductor, en route from Frankfurt to America
Sep. 14, 1953 - Solti's hard-won visa. On Sunday evening general music director Georg Solti said his goodbyes at Frankfurt Rhein Main airport as he began a several-week long tour through the United States. Solti received his visa, which he, beaming from ear to ear, showed to the journalists before his departure
