Georgios Mavros, Greek politician, casting his vote

Nov. 11, 1977 - Greek Election - Karamanlis Wins: The Greek Officer gave Premiere Konstantinos Karamanlis a parliamentary majority at the elections this week but the results shows a drift towards political polarisation that does not augur well for the country or for the premier. The results were different from what Karamanlis expected, for the first time since World War II the left broke the 30 per cent barrier, piling up more than 35 per cent of the vote and crushing the political centre. Photo Shows Leader of the Centre Union Party (opposite) Georgios Mavros casting his vote. He came third in the Greek elections
