Gerard Tuite, James Moody, Stanley Thompson, Brixton escape

Dec. 17, 1980 - IRA danger man escapes from Prison: 25 year old Gerard Tuite, once described an being high on Scotland Yard's most wanted list, escaped during the early hours of yesterday (Dec. 16) with two others from Brixton Prison, London. The men who escaped with Tuite were Stanley Thompson and James Alfred Mocdy. They escaped having broken through the walls of their cells in D wing, a high security wing, and then on to a flat roof outside Tuite's cell. They then sprinted across an exercise yard, climbed some scaffolding and then with the aid of a board got across to the 15 foot high wall and dropped down to the other side.
