Oct. 27, 1954 - After a year of deprivation and austerity: Coffee and Cake. After a one year break German prisoners of war unexpectedly arrived in Berlin and West Germany from Soviet Russia. There was a release-transportation of 62 prisoners-of-war, of which half went to West Germany and Berlin. Berlin's ruling mayor, Dr. Walther Schreiber(second from left), insisted on an hour of coffee with the prisoners in the Sch?neberg town hall
