1962 - Horst Eick the Rat Catcher of Berlin: It is not pied of Hamelin but the official rat catcher of Berlin, who is sen here on work. and he does not decoy the rats with sweet notes, as his famouspredecessor did, but with pieces of apples. Horst Eick(52), a forest officer, applied for this job, as it was advertised by the Spandau district commission. this was 13 years ago and since that time he has caught over 4000 rats. which aromatic pieces of apple, hes Eick laid out of the river Havel to catch those muskrats, which browse on the read and cause whole in to the embankment by their nests. since the muskrats of Berlin ordinarily do not have a valuable coat, as for example the finuish mushrats have, it is not worth while to skin then.
