Apr. 19, 1952 - A picture for the May 1 edition! The traditional May-tree is being erected all over Germany in the villages on May 1. This old custom is preserved above all in southern Germany, where in the night before the festival the May tree is carefully guarded by young folks. It is a scandal for the village if the neighboring village's young people steal their May tree. In the morning hours of May 1 the tree is decorated by all and put on the village square
