Mar. 25, 1953 - Dutch Catastrophe Donations for German Refugees. When Holland was beset by excessive, catastrophic flooding several weeks ago, numerous commodity contributions arrived from all over the world.The contributions were so plentiful that they couldn't utilize all of them for the flooding. Therefore, the Dutch government donated the excess contributions to German refugees. The first barge, full of textiles, is currently being unloaded in Frankfurter Westhafen
