1953 - Of interest in connection with Hitler's birthday on April 20th! At present Hitler's Platterhof on the Obersalzberg near Berchtesgaden/Upper Bavaria is rebuilt in a recreation center for American non-commissioned officers and enlisted men (below). Hitler's former guest-house was not so much damaged by war but by robbing. The cost of the renewing is estimated up to 405 to 6 million DMarks. The recreation center will be formally devoted to its destination still this coming fall. For that the American armed forces are to release some hotels in Berchtesgaden and on the King's Lake.
