Jan. 01, 1953 - French face trial with Germans accused of massacre in village square in 1944: The Bordeaux military tribunal yesterday decided not to grant a separate trial to the 13 french nationals of Alsace who, with seven Germans, are charged with taking part in the massacre of over six hundred people- men - women and children - in the village of Cradour-Sur-Glane. The village was wiped out in 1944 by a company of s.s.Armour ed Division Des Rich. The crime is believered to have been a reprisal for the kinldnapping by the Maquis of an S.S. unit commander. Photo shows some of the nineteen accused in the dock during their trial at Bordesux - they include : prestel, weber, Neiss, Ochs, Lohner, Giedinger, Grienberger, Graff, Laul Elsaesser and Hoechlilnger
