Sep. 15, 1953 - Members of the FDJ, the Freie Deutsche Junge, a communist group in East Germany, were incited to cross the border zone at Brandenburg Gate and put up the flags of East Germany and a peace flag. A West Berlin police officer is pictured here trying to convince the young FDJers to take their flags down. After a police detachment arrived they fled back into the Soviet zone
