Mar. 30, 1954 - Here sits Assi. The collie is waiting in front of the gate to the mortuary of Ohlsdorf's cemetery in Hamburg, where his mistress, Eva Klenert, was taken yesterday. Klenert's home was an asylum for animals, including Assi, a dachshund, eight cats, and a parrot. She got by on a meager pension. All the other animals were taken in or something happened to them, but Assi remains here alone, waiting on the master who will never come back
