Oct. 25, 1953 - Ernst Reuter continues to work even in death. A million pounds of butter was donated to needy Germans in Berlin as part of a food donation from the International Rescue Committee. It goes to help welfare recipients, jobless, and East-German refugees. The project was continued at the behest of recently-deceased former mayor Prof. Ernst Reuter.
