Jun. 06, 1953 - Master Of Batory Given Asylum. Holds Press Conference: Captain Jan Oniklinski, 53, Master of the Polish liner, Batory, who was detained in Brixton prison after leaving his ship, was yesterday granted permission to remain in Britain. This was announced after he had been questioned by M.1.5. officers and other security officers. Capt. Owiklinski left the liner at Hebburn, where she had been refitted.
