Jun. 19, 1954 - Pictured here, hiding his face, is Gustav Scholling, a blind 60 year old who is in court for killing his life companion 69 year old Magdalena Jonissek, who was suffering from severe meningitis. Magdalena wished to be killed to escape the pain. The court imposed the lightest sentence of two months in jail for him. He wrapped a noose around her neck and performed the act. Scholling is shown here with a coat over his head as he left the court building
