Sep. 26, 1954 - Belgium destroys soccer champions 2:0. In Heysel Stadium in Brussels the German national team was subjected to the Belgian team, losing 2:0. Again and again the German storm attempted to break through the Belgian defense in order to try and catch up. The outstanding Belgian defense didn't let Rahn(pictured above - left) through to the goal. The Belgian substitute goalkeeper, who was subbed in back in the first half for Gernaer, proved to be solid. Our lower picture shows him punching a sharp shot over the goal
