1956 - German Mother Kidnaps Her Own Son. Car Dash Across The French-German Border: Mrs. Ellen Schmid from Alsbach, near Darmstadt - made a dramatic dash by car to Agny near Paris a few days ago and kidnapped her twelve year old son Wolfgang as he left school. Wolfgang was under the care of his father - but his mother learned that the boy was being ill-threated and decided to take him back with her. Mrs. Schmid made the trip with a friend Mr. Peter Kramer and her 11 year old daughter Karin. After kidnapping Wolfgang - they went to the German Consulate in Paris to try and get a visa to return to Alsbach - but started off on a dramatic car dash and crossed the French-German border they were stopped by the father. Afterwards the Blensheim Court declared that the father had lost the right of the boy - owing to the ill-treatment. Now Mrs. Schmid is trying to regain her other son - 5 year old Siegfried - who still lives with his father.
