Oct. 10, 1955 - The Lost Army Returns Home. A Weeping Father Greets His Son: Many poignant scenes were to be witnessed when more than 800 survivors of Hitler's Russian Army arrived at Friedland Camp, Goettingen, Germany - at the end of their journey from Russian Captivity. Many mothers and wives scanned the faces of the new arrivals - hoping against hope to find their menfolk among them. Photo shows A weeping father greets his son - who he thought perhaps he would never see again - on arrival of the lost army at Friedland Camp
