Apr. 15, 1957 - Pictured is Kenia the giraffe. She was sold to a Dutch zoo. This was the end to a rather embarrassing story. A toy division printed a picture of a true giraffe, stating that 7, 500 Gulden(abt. 8, 250 DM) for a giraffe isn't too bad. Who can provide this giraffe with good lodgings? They later had quite the embarrassment when a zoo in Wassenaar requested a giraffe at the said price. The actual price to a giraffe was 12, 500 DM, but since they advertised the toy as a real giraffe, they had to take a 4, 200 DM loss and bite the bullet
