Sep. 09, 1957 - Atomic reactor starts operating in Munich-Garehing: The first atomic reactor of Western-Germany was put in operation in the presence of delegates of the Bavarian country- government and the Technical Academy Munich, on Sept. 9, 1957. Prof. Meier-Leibnitz (MEIER LEIBNITZ) of the Technical Academy of Munich pointed - during his speech - especially to the importance of this atomic reactors for peaceful research-work which is of extreme significance for science.
