Jun. 06, 1957 - 15 recruits of the German Bundeswehr drowned to death in the Iller-river: During the mannoeuver of the 19th parachutist-bataillon of the German Bundewehr (Army) 15 recruits who tried to cross the Iller-river with full armament drowned to death near Kempten on June 3rd. The very rapid river also led flood. The arrest of the responsible officer was ordered.
