Oct. 10, 1957 - The largest refugee-camp of Europe.. In Wentorf near Hamburg a visit was payed on Oct 5, 1957 by the new Bishop of Osnabrueck, Dr. Wittler, who celebrated a pontifical mass in the chapel of the camp. This visit - payed on the third day after being ordained bishop of Osnabrueck - shows the affection of Dr. Wittler towards the refugees who bear such heavy burden. The camp Wentorf has at present a population of approx. 10000 refugees and expels who are awaiting their admission by the Nordrhein-Wesfalia authorities. OPS:- Bishop Dr. Wittler at Camp Wentorf
