Dec. 10, 1956 - The largest airfield of Germany. in Fa?berg near Hannover, was handed over to the German Armed Forces on December 9 after eleven years of English control. Germany had already stationed a technical school, training regiment, and a military air group there. After the changing of flags Air Vice Marshal Ubee handed the field over to German Major General Huth. Fa?berg airfield was an important airfield during the Berlin Blockage in 1948/1949.
