Sep. 24, 1957 - The German Minister of Defense, Franz Josef Strauss (STRAUSS) dismissed the military personnel manager of the Bundeswehr, Brigade-General Burkard Muller-Hillebrand (BURKHARD MULLER-HILLEBRAND). Different interpretations of personnel politics induced minister Strauss to this step. Muller-Hillebrand was dismissed, as he did not pay attention to a promotion, which Strauss had suggested.
