Dec. 12, 1956 - Germany's first SOS-Children-village Diessen/ Ammersee: Today it was possible to lay the foundation for the first SOS-Children-village in Germany by the generous donation of a wealthy lady. So six houses will be built up at first. The purpose of the SOS-Children-village-union is to give orphans and also other children living in bad family temper a usual home and a careful mammy. Gentlemen of the Bavarian government attended the ceremony, when the little 7 years old Maximilian Rammler from Munich, who is member of the SOS-Children-village-union since two years put the box with the initials and also with documents, coins and newspapers in the wall of the first house proclamating a prolog.
