Aug. 08, 1957 - The town of Kessel opens the most modern street-crossing in Western Germany.: The Old Market of Kassel, called Kassel Cross has been rebuilt is more than one year and has been opened for traffic. Here cross only state-highways and roads fro fast traffic and turns to the right can be made without disturbing the other traffic. The building of this road-crossing cost German Marks 2 million (approx. 5000 000 Dollars). More than 6000vehicles passing the crossing were counted during one hour. It is calculated that 65 000 vehicles may cross in 12 hours without causing any traffic-jams. Photo shows the new Kassel-jams
