Jun. 06, 1958 - SOS children's village inaugurated: On June 7, 1958 at Diessen/Ammersee the first German SOS children village has been inaugurated. It is consisting out of three houses, already finished, five more soon will be ready. Each house is costing about DM 60000, raised by the club SOS children village'. In Germany they have got more than one million of members. They want to give a home to children, who haven't got parents, a home and a family. For that only specially selected mothers may work here, they are the head of a small family with nine children in different ages. Like a real mother they have to cook, to go shopping, to wash and to look for the home works. Every household per person has got DM 63.
