By order of the Federal Defense Ministry the first launch of a series of twelve coastal mine-sweeping boats occurred in Bremen-Burg on Saturday 2-16-1957. The boats purpose is to search for mines in German waters in the North and East Sea. The 45m long and over 8m broad ship was christened the Lindau
