Sep. 02, 1959 - Autumn manouvre Ulmer Spatz': On Aug. 31st, with the descend of 300 parachutists, the Ulmer Spatz, the so far biggest autumn manouvre of the German army began in Heuburg/Germany. 17 000 men of the army, 2 500 of the air-force, 3500 motor-cars, 240 tanksand 76 bombers, transport-and pioneer aero-planes were taking part in this manouvre. The generals Speidel, Heusinger, Minister of Defence Franz Josef Strauss and army deputy von Grolman as well as high officers of the Nato are watching. On the second day of the manouvre, the 1st Sept. 1959, on the Pfaffernberg/training area Heuberg, an artificial atombomb exploded which produced an atom fungus which looked like a real one
