Germany - Lithuania - Poland
Feb. 25 The Soviets erected at the most important places of the East- German border high watchtowers. At the top of the tower stands a little hut. The East - German frontier guards are now able to observe every movement at the border. As West-german policemen noticed, are the East German guards relieved every eight hours. As soon as the East German frontier-guards notice the people which wanted to cross the border illegally, the frontier is blocked by people. Such huntings had been observed during the last month. Here you see the tower of the Estate of Vogelsangin in the district of Gottingen. The picture was taken by a long distance lens. Some other towers are still in work at that district. the plounghed ground in front of the West German guard, the so called no man's land, is controlled every morning by East German guards and Russian soldiers for foot-tracks
