Feb. 26 The Kaiser Lives on-in a Southend Bedroom.: A bedroom in a house in a quiet Southend street is a monument to the former imperial might of Germany. It's a house with a remarkable collection of Military equipment from the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The collection has been built up over seven years by 27 year old Donald Stoneman a maintenance fitter at Carreras Factory, Basildon, Essex. Donald began collecting German military souvenirs when he came across a few First World War items. His interest grew as he read the history of the Kaiser reign from 1888 to 1915 and new he has tunice. helmets, sweris, bayonets, medals from the period.: Donald Stoneman pictured wearing a Prussian guards Officer's uniform and standing beside many of the thing that he has collected over the years
