Feb. 28 THEODOR-HEUSS-PRICE AND MEDAL 1978 On Saturday 21st, 1978 in Munich the Federal Chancellor Helmut Schmidt got the Theodor-Heuss-price from the President of the Federal Republic Walter Scheel. Theodor-Heuss-medals got the Lord Mayor of Stuttgatt (FRG), Manfred Rommel, the French political expert, Alfred Grosser and the regional bishop of the Lutheran Church in Bavaria, Johannes Hanselmann. Helmut Schmidt got the price for his extraordinary model at the defence of the constitutional state against terror attacks. The Theodor Heuss- foundation (chariman: Mrs. Hildegard Hamm-Bruecher, Minister of State) decided, to give the money of the prices to the children of the murdered drivers of Siegfried Buback and Hanns Martin Schleyer, and of the Lufthansa-pilot Juergen Schumann.
