Apr. 16 Food murdered: Now they found the couple Mertel in Lehental near Kulmbach who was disappeared since 10 days murdered in a dug-out. The 38-years-old nephew Frits Pistor defied the hearings of experienced criminalists unto the last hour. Then they once more searched the whole estate and found the couple slain in a dug-out where the couple used to hide articles of value during bad times. The murderer had burnt the good clothing of the couple and told the people that they had went off. Leader of the whole action was Amtsgerichsrat(higher judicial official) Carl Heinrich, Kulmbach. The medical examination was done by Professor Dr. Emil Weining of the judicial-medical institute Erlangen, furthermore were present chief prosecutor Dr. Erich Janka and Amtmann (magistrate) of criminal field department Upper-Frankonia, Andreas Schober
