Jul. 25, 1960 - Max Schmeling in the soap - box: The 14 year old Wolfgang Hohne of Berlin was the winner of the German soap box derby in the Bulsburg Stadtwald in which 108 boys competed. He is now able to take part in the International Soap Box Derby in New York. Before the derby in Duisburg leading persons held their own derby with 20, 000 people watching. Max Schmeling does not seem to like his soap box in form of a boxing glove very much. But he started in spite and won the derby with two lengths ahead
