1963 - 600, 000 - for each workplace have been spent in the new ESSO-refinery in the Karlsruhe South-German oil-centre. It is the first of the three plannes refineries, which will be going in motion official on April 24th. The tank-stores, boilers and distillations are erected on the district of about 2 square kilometres. Only 400 employees and workers in the high automatical factory are taking care for the yearly manufacturing of 3.6 millions tons crude oil, which will be taken away of the South-European pipeline Marseille Karlsruhe. For South Germany the setting in motion of the first refinery is a great economical event, above all from the Karlsruhe oil centre two further pipelines will be running to Ingolstadt and Mannheim.
