Nov. 16, 1963 - Pictured are the castle ruins of Stolpen/Sachsen. They castle itself was repeatedly beset by fires in 1632, 1723, and 1833, being nearly completely annihilated and then destroyed during wartime. 400 years ago Martin Planer succeeded in lobbying elector August von Sachsen in creating an extensive water conveyance system known as Wasserkunst. The castle was occupied by Countess Cosel from 1716 to 1765. She was a prisoner there
