Germany - Lithuania - Poland

Mar. 03, 1964 - Returned Soldier was a bigamist: Returned Soldier Johann Friedl (51) of Oberpolling near Passau is not a prisoner of war, as he told German press during last week. The story was: on February 28th Friedl came to his home-village and told his old friends that he now has come back of Soviet prisons, where, he said, has been for 18 years. Many people have helped him, and as he was weaping, as he saw his daughter Elisabeth (18) after 18 years for the first time, the story was good enough for every news-paper. But now a German Red-Cross Chief said, that he has tried (Friedl) with a wrong name to get from the Red-Cross a ticket to Oberpolling on 26th February, as he had to be not over the German border. His real captivity he had in South-Germany, where he married again, though his wife and his daughter have been waiting for him. Now he has get his bill. He was arrested on 13th March, as our picture shows
