May 05, 1965 - The concentration camp museum in Dachau (West Germany): Installed in a building of the former concentration camp, will be opened on the 9th may, 1965. The exhibition area is about 3000 square meters, included a special place for cinema performances. In the administration building there are also archives, a library and a study room all open to the public. The museum gives a introduction to the development of the National Socialism from 1933 onwards. On a big map all important concentration camps in Europe are to be seen. Then follow in two parts the daily life in the camp from 1933 till 1945 showing everything that went on in Dachau during that time. The release of the prisoners at the camp in Dachau and the trial against the former SS-bewatcher make the conclusion of the exhibition. Photo shows the Bavarian Minister of Agriculture and Forest.
